Ingrid Bauer MD, MS
Ingrid Bauer, MD emphasizes affordable, effective, natural therapies with her patients. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Ingrid has been studying and practicing herbal medicine and nutrition for nearly 20 years. She enjoys teaching about herbal medicine for Western medical practitioners, and delights in sharing Western medical knowledge with the herbal community. Through practicing and teaching, she seeks to bridge conventional and alternative paradigms to expand access to holistic healthcare.
Ingrid studied herbal medicine with the American School of Herbalism in Santa Cruz, CA. She is a graduate of the UC Berkeley/UCSF Joint Medical Program, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA.
Ingrid has taught and lectured on herbal medicine at Five Flavors Herbs, UC Berkeley, American Herbalists’ Guild, Integrative Medicine for the Underserved, the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine, and the East-West School of Herbology. Her research background includes anthropology, Latin American studies, botany, and phytomedicine, with a focus on cross-cultural uses of botanical medicine and herb-drug interactions.
