Benjamin Zappin offers his patients focused and caring attention founded on 25 years of experience in herbalism, Chinese medicine, and other integrative therapies. Benjamin offers practical lifestyle guidance along with custom formulas tailored to individuals needs to support them achieving their health goals.
To create effective herbal formulas and treat patients, Benjamin synthesizes his deep knowledge of Chinese and Western herbal medicine with modern medical perspectives. He employs this intersectional East/West synthesis as a clinician, as lead formulator for Five Flavors Herbs, and as a consultant to the natural products industry.
Benjamin regularly lectures at institutions and symposia nationwide including the American Herbalists Guild and the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. He has taught at the ACTCM doctoral program and been on the faculty of Five Branches University, ACCHS, East/West School of Herbology, and the American School of Herbalism. He has lectured at California School of Herbal Studies, UCSF, and many other institutions as a guest lecturer and has been involved in training physicians in natural medicine internationally.
In addition to his work as an herbalist, Benjamin previously served on the board of directors of Integrative Medicine for the Underserved and continues to participate as an advisor. He spends his free time cooking, studying music, gardening, and spending time with his family.
