Seasonal Acupuncture Treatments

One of Chinese Medicine’s strengths is it’s use as a preventative method of health care.  That is why here at Paeonia we recommend a seasonal acupuncture treatment, four times a year.  Getting a treatment when the seasons change can bring the body’s inner environment back into harmony with the outside environment, thus boosting the body’s immune system.

While we in the West usually only consider going to the doctor when we are very sick or are unable to go to work, Chinese medicine recommends utilizing acupuncture to support your health all year long.  This is similar to the regular maintenance recommended for cars: an oil change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, regular tune ups, special maintenance at 100,000 miles, etc.

Getting acupuncture treatments preventatively can also help address symptoms of chronic illness such as allergies and asthma, as well as prevent acute illness such as colds by boosting the immune system.

Just as you do special cleaning in the Spring, pack your sweaters away for the summer, and put extra blankets on your bed in the winter, it is a good idea to lend a helping hand to the natural, seasonal adaptation process of your body’s inner environment.
